While some of the mechanisms of action of HBOT are yet to be discovered, it is known that HBOT enables the following physiologic events.

Please see additional link on frequency of treatment
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is an adjunctive treatment that is increasing in use as the beneficial effects become apparent to a greater number of patients and caregivers.

Hyperbarics is an emerging medical specialty with more than 200 years of practical use, a growing scientific database, and a progressively larger following in the medical community.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy delivers 100% oxygen systemically, at pressures 1.5-3 times greater than atmospheric pressure.

The patient is entered into a cylindrical, clear acrylic, treatment chamber, and breathes the ambient (surrounding) oxygen. This results in "supersaturation" of the blood, cerebrospinal fluid, and soft tissues with oxygen that may be used for healing purposes.
