The spirochete that causes Lyme Disease cannot survive in a high oxygen environment. Inside a hyperbaric oxygen chamber at 2.4 atmospheres absolute (ATA) the tissue level of oxygen is 10 times that of breathing room air.

This is lethal to the Lyme spirochete and any other co-morbid organism.

Patients who have utilized HBOT report a better sense of overall well being, more energy, improved sleep, less body/joint aches, and fewer headaches. Please note, antibiotics are still the standard of care for acute Lyme Disease.

The use of HBOT for Lyme Disease is still investigational, but it is showing promise.
